The Vancouver Canucks could turn to an Original Six team to help solve their depth issues down the middle before the start of the 2025-26 season.

If there's one area of their roster that the Vancouver Canucks would like to would like to address before the season it would be the center ice position because as things stand right now, the club is slated to have Filip Chytil in that 2C hole.
Given Chytil's injury history, it might be a bit unrealistic to expect him to be in that role for an entire season, with Patrik Allvin scouring the market for center options over the last few months.
Jack Roslovic has been heavily linked to the club over the last month or so , while Mason McTavish, who also could be a fit is now reportedly unlikely to be traded this summer, but there is one team that Patrik Allvin could turn to in order to address their pressing need.

Vancouver Canucks could turn to Original Six franchise to help with center issue

Earlier this week while making an appearance on Sekeres and Price, Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects examined some potential center options for the Vancouver Canucks to consider in the weeks ahead.
One team that the Vancouver Canucks could call up to inquire about center help is the Boston Bruins, with names like Pavel Zacha and Casey Mittelstadt among those reportedly available on the market.
"Yeah, both would represent upgrades, I would feel. I like Mittelstadt. They bring different qualities to their game, but I think Mittelstadt has a little bit higher pure offensive skill. Zacha is the bigger body and can kind of bang a little bit more but does, you know, he has a couple of decent seasons under his belt too. Price to acquire, you know, it's not going to be cheap for either of those players, I don't think. Boston's probably going to be a little more open to moving out right now. I think they're in a transitional phase. But yes, I think Vancouver I'm sure would be calling on both those players." Robinson said.
Both Zacha and Mittelstadt are under contract for the next two seasons with cap hits of $4.75 million and $5.75 million, respectively, and with the Vancouver Canucks only having a little over $3 million in available space to work with, they would need the Boston Bruins to take on a contract, or even retain money, to make a deal work.
We'll have to wait and see what the coming weeks have in store for Patrik Allvin on the trade market, but hopefully he'll be able to land some center help, whether it be a legit 2C or even just some depth for the third or fourth lines.
