The Vancouver Canucks have announced on Tuesday that Finnish goaltender Kevin Lankinen will not accompany them on their upcoming four-game road trip.

After dropping their last three games, the Vancouver Canucks will look to find a way to turn things around on Wednesday night as they open up a four-game road trip in Southern California against the Anaheim Ducks, who currently lead the Pacific Division with a 14-7-1 record through 22 games.
On Monday, the Canucks made an emergency roster move by calling up goaltender Nikita Tolopilo from the American Hockey League, while sending Jiri Patera down to get some game action with the Abbotsford Canucks.
"General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that G Jiri Patera has been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL) and G Nikita Tolopilo has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL) under emergency conditions." the Canucks said on X.

Just one day after being sent down, it looks like Jiri Patera will be seeing some game action soon and it'll happen in the National Hockey League rather with AHL Abbotsford.

Vancouver Canucks' Kevin Lankinen not traveling with team to start four-game road trip

In a post on X this morning, the Vancouver Canucks announced that goaltender Kevin Lankinen will not be traveling with the team today to Anaheim for personal reasons and that they've called Jiri Patera back up to the NHL.
"General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that G Kevin Lankinen will not travel with the team due to personal reasons and that G Jiri Patera has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL) under emergency conditions." the Canucks said.
With Thatcher Demko still on the sidelines with a lower-body injury and Kevin Lankinen out for personal reasons, the Vancouver Canucks will be riding with a tandem of Jiri Patera and Nikita Tolopilo to begin their road trip, who combine for a total of 11 appearances in the National Hockey League.
It's certainly not an ideal to have such an inexperienced tandem, recently making all of their veteran players available for trade, aside from Quinn Hughes, it'll likely help with Vancouver's chances of landing the first overall pick in June's draft and an opportunity to select Gavin McKenna.
Everyone here at Vancouver Hockey Daily hopes that everything is okay with Kevin Lankinen and his family and that he'll be back between the pipes as soon as he's able to.
