Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin has issued unfortunate injury update over the weekend regarding the team's star goaltender Thatcher Demko.
With injury issues continuing to pile up for the Vancouver Canucks, Adam Foote's group are hoping to remain in the hunt for a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, a task that could prove to be tough with star netminder Thatcher Demko on the sidelines.
After not suiting up in either of Vancouver's games over the November 8th-9th weekend due to what the club called "maintenance reasons", Demko returned to the crease for the their all-Canadian clash with the Winnipeg Jets, but after one period,
he was forced to leave with a suspected groin injury.
"Early word, it sounds like it's a groin injury for Demko." Rick Dhaliwal said last week.

One day after Demko was forced to exit their game against the Jets,
NHL insider Frank Seravalli reported that the Canucks netminder is set to miss the next two-to-three weeks and that it's not related to a previous lower-body injury he sustained in seasons past nor does it have anything to do with why he missed their back-to-back a couple weekends ago.
"Some (relatively) positive news for #Canucks on Thatcher Demko this morning. Early indication is that Demko is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a minor injury.
It's unrelated to his previous knee injury and unrelated to why Demko took maintenance days last week." Seravalli said.
"Patrik Allvin says Thatcher Demko is week-to-week." Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 said on X.
Demko, a native of San Diego, California, has appeared in ten games for the Canucks this season where he has a record of 5-4-0, a 2.80 goals against average and a .903 save percentage.
For the time being,
Kevin Lankinen will be thrusted into the starting role, something he's more than comfortable doing after being in that spot last season due to Thatcher Demko's injuries.
Sunday's win in Tampa Bay, where he had a .933 save percentage and made 28 saves on 30 shots, was exactly what the Vancouver Canucks will need out of Kevin Lankinen going forward if they want to remain in the mix for a playoff spot with the all-important American Thanksgiving date looming.
