The Vancouver Canucks have announced a stacked roster for their 2025 Rookie Camp as well as Prospects Showdown games against the Seattle Kraken.

Vancouver's offseason will officially come to a close on Thursday when the team opens up their Rookie Camp in Abbotsford, one week one week before their main training camp begins in Penticton, British Columbia.
There's a lot to like about the Canucks' prospect pool, whether it be their top guys like Jonathan Lekkerimaki, Braeden Cootes, Tom Willander and Aleksei Medvedev or those that are a bit underrated such as Josh Bloom, Vilmer Alriksson and Riley Patterson, all of whom fans will see on the ice later this week.

As part of their camp, the Vancouver Canucks will be facing off against prospects from their Pacific Northwest rivals, the Seattle Kraken, on Saturday and Sunday in Everett, Washington and Seattle, respectively.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Canucks officially announced their 23-man roster for Rookie Camp and as expected, it features all of the names we mentioned above, headlined by Jonathan Lekkerimaki, Tom Willander and 2025 first round pick Braeden Cootes, along with other notables including Sawyer Mynio, Kirill
Kudryavtsev and Elias Pettersson.
The Canucks also invited five non-AHL players to Rookie Camp including former Providence College captain Nick Poisson, Jakob Oreskovic & Aaron Obobaifo from the WHL's Vancouver Giants, Zack Sandhu of the OHL's Oshawa Generals and Xander Velliaris of the OHL's Saginaw Spirit.
Due to NCAA rules about players participating in NHL Rookie Camps, the Vancouver Canucks will be missing a few notable prospects this week - Anthony Romani (Michigan State University), Aiden Celebrini (Boston University), Wilson Bjorck (Colorado College) and Matthew Perkins (Northeastern University).
Another prospect that won't be in attendance is defenseman Basile Sansonnens because, as was announced before he initially came to North America in the fall of 2024 to play in the QMJHL, he he would be returning to Switzerland's top division - National League for the 2025-26 campaign.
"Ahead of the Prospects Showcase, the group will practice in Abbotsford, BC on Thursday, September 11 and Friday, September 12 at 10:30am PT each day. The team will then travel to Everett, WA to take on the Seattle Kraken's prospects on Saturday, September 13 at 6:00pm PT, before heading to Seattle for the second half of a back-to-back on Sunday, September 14 at 4:00pm PT." the Canucks said.
