Even though the Vancouver Canucks made it known they are no longer looking for free-agents to fill the second-line center role, it appears that might be circling back on one of their previous top UFA targets.

With only a couple weeks until the NHL offseason concludes and the Canucks start ramping up training camp, there are still lots of question marks in their lineup.
All summer long, they have been desperately trying to find an upgrade at center for their second line, originally looking to the free agent market for those answers.
But, despite their efforts, General Manager Patrik Allvin made the decision to switch gears and look for a through a trade, but that has also proven to me a large task.

Vancouver Canucks appear to circle back on top UFA Jack Roslovic

Now, a new report has indicated that Vancouver appears to circle back to their original top UFA target Jack Roslovic, even though they supposedly «made up their mind» on him.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli mentioned that with the lack of progress being made on a new contract, the Canucks are eyeing him very closely once again.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli provided an update on the Roslovic situation earlier this week, and name-checked the Canucks.

«Obviously this has taken way longer than [the Roslovic camp] anticipated,» Seravalli reported on Sept. 9. «I think the Vancouver Canucks have been monitoring this situation pretty closely.»

With that being said, the Vancouver Canucks do not have a ton of cap space to work with, but if they can get him at an expected $2.85-3 million a season, expect for Allvin to make his best bet in the next week.
