Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes believes that Elias Pettersson will have a bounce back season for the club after an inconsistent 2024-25 campaign.

A lot can be said about Elias Pettersson's 2024-25 season, but to sum it up in a few words - Inconsistent, Drama-Filled and Injuries, but the 26-year-old is determined to prove everyone wrong.
Earlier this summer, Pettersson told reporters in Sweden that he was "out for revenge" this coming season and believes he can be a better leader, and player, for his club.
"I haven't thought about it, but for myself it's revenge. I'm not happy with last season. I'm trying to lead by example. But I know that I can become a better leader, in that aspect. I'm trying my best, but also trying to get better." Pettersson said.

Quinn Hughes believes in Elias Pettersson's ability to bounce back this year

After seeing the hard work he's put in on the ice throughout the offseason, there's plenty of belief in Elias Pettersson and his ability to prove the doubters wrong during the 2025-26 season and while he might be go right back to being a 100-point player, if he can get to a point-per-game pace, that'll help the team's postseason chances in a big way.
General Manager Patrik Allvin is one person that believes in Elias Pettersson's chances at a bounce back year as does the team's captain, Quinn Hughes, who opened up about his teammate and the struggles he endured during an interview with Sportsnet's Iain MacIntyre.
Hughes stands behind Pettersson, saying that the team needs him and that he things it's going to be a great year for him, however it'll be up to the Swedish forward on how much he improves when compared to last season.
"As far as Petey, I mean, we need him. You don't get to the level Petey was at (191 points over the previous two seasons) without having extreme dedication and focus and some things inside you. I've seen it from him, and I think he's going to be great. I think he's happy, think he's had a great summer and I'm looking forward to seeing him. Do I think he's going to have a better year? Yeah, because he's a really good player. But it's going to be up to him about how good a year he has." Hughes said.

All of the distractions, drama and injuries that Pettersson dealt with last season are now in the past, from his knee issue last summer to the feud with J.T. Miller and another injury he sustained in late-March, leading to a fresh slate for him entering the 2025-26 campaign
Vancouver Canucks fans can't wait to see what the Sundsvall, Sweden native has in store as soon as the puck drops on the team's regular season schedule on Thursday, October 9th.
