Vancouver Canucks Complete Important Meeting With Top-Ranked International Goalie Ahead of 2025 NHL Draft
The Vancouver Canucks reportedly met with the top ranked international goaltender for the 2025 NHL Entry Draft on Friday morning, who is represented by Dan Milstein.
We're officially one week away from the start of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft,
which will be decentralized for this year only and held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, with Patrik Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks
set to select 15th overall.
It's unclear at this time if the Vancouver Canucks will hold onto the 15th overall pick next Friday,
as reports suggest the team could trade the selection in order to acquire immediate help, such as a second line centerman.
However when we get into the second round and beyond, it's going to be interesting to see who the Vancouver Canucks end up taking and adding to their prospect pool and on Friday, the team reportedly met with one of the top goaltenders available at this year's draft.

NHL Player Agent Dan Milstein is holding a showcase starting today and running through Friday for a number of his Russian clients, who teams might not have been able to see live or interview throughout the 2024-25 season.
In a post on his Instagram story on Thursday evening, Milstein shared his schedule for the weekend and who his clients will be meeting with, and it looks like Vancouver Canucks will be in attendance.
Milstein's Instagram story shows that the Vancouver Canucks met with goaltender Pyotr Andreyanov, who is currently
ranked first by NHL Central Scouting among international goalies at 11 am PT on Friday morning.
It's unclear who from the Vancouver Canucks organization Andreyanov met with on Friday, whether it be Patrik Allvin & Jim Rutherford,
who didn't attend the Draft Combine in Buffalo, or if it was Assistant General Manager Cammi Granato and members of the team's scouting staff.
Andreyanov, 18, spent the 2024-25 season in the Russian MHL, which is the nation's junior hockey league, with Krasnaya Armiya Moskva and his numbers show this year were phenomenal.
In 37 games during the regular season with Krasnaya Armiya Moskva, Andreyanov had a 23-6-6 record along with a 1.75 goals against average, a .942 goals against average and three shutouts.
It seems pretty likely that the Vancouver Canucks will draft a goaltender next weekend in Los Angeles after not selecting one in either 2023 or 2024, with
Ty Young being the last netminder they took back in 2022.
Given Vancouver's goaltending situation at the NHL level and the fact we may see
Arturs Silovs make the jump on a full-time basis next season, the Vancouver Canucks would be wise to add more depth to the prospect pool, with AHL Abbotsford likely running with
Nikita Tolopilo, Ty Young and possibly
Aku Koskenvuo next season.
Ideally, Patrik Allvin could draft a goaltender, such as Pyotr Andreyanov for example, who they can leave in Europe for a few years to develop and bring them over to North America when there's a guaranteed spot for them to get playing time, either in Vancouver or Abbotsford.
