Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland earned a big win on Saturday following the United States' win over Germany at the 2025 IIHF World Championship.

The Vancouver Canucks are well represented at the 2025 IIHF World Championship, which is currently underway over in Herning, Denmark and Stockholm, Sweden.
Among the players suiting up for their nation is forward Conor Garland, who was not only named to their roster in late April, but also given an 'A' on his sweater as part of the United States' leadership group.
Coming into action on Saturday, Conor Garland had three points (one goal, two assists) in four games for the United States, but he stepped up in a big way against the Germans.

The United States sat fourth in Group B entering Day 9 of the 2025 IIHF World Championship and with a victory, they could climb up the standings and inch closer to clinching a berth in the Playoff Round.

However, the United States fell apart, blowing a lead for the second time this tournament, as Germany rattled off three goals in the middle frame, setting the fans in Herning up for an exciting finish in the third period.
In the third period, Conor Garland took charge, scoring four minutes in to give the United States a 4-3 lead, which would stand as the game-winner, while also adding two of his three assists in the contest, helping his nation to a big 6-3 victory.

Garland finished the game with four points (one goal, three assists) and as a result of his incredible effort on Saturday, he was named the 'Player of the Game' for the United States.
"One goal, three assists and the game-winning goal make Conor Garland your player of the game!" USA Hockey said on X.
Garland, O'Connor and the United States will have a quick turnaround as they're set to face 17-year KHL veteran Roman Starchenko and Team Kazakhstan at 7:20 am PT tomorrow on TSN.
