Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Adam Foote did not hold back his feeling nor comments when addressing the ongoing trade rumours involving his captain and MVP Quinn Hughes.

Ever since Canucks President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford made those head turning comments about Quinn Hughes' desire to play with his brother Jack and Luke at some point in his career, the rumours about his future in Vancouver have been running rampant.
Although it may be no secret, it has been added drama that the Canucks do not need, especially for how the 2024-25 season transpired.

In reality, Hughes may be leaning one way or the other, but its is for certain that if this season goes poorly and they miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs for a second consecutive year, that decision will be a whole lot easier for him.
As a response, new Canucks bench boss Adam Foote made it clear where he thinks the outcome of Quinn Hughes and the Canucks will be, stating that he sees him remaining apart of the organization.
"I honestly think he's going to be a Canuck. I think it's all blown up. And I think he understands me; of course I want him here. I'm just going to coach, one day at a time. And I see him here now. I see him here for these two years. I see him here in the future. And honestly, if we do what we can do and he buys into the process and he's having fun, you know, and we're winning some hockey games, we'll let everything just take care of itself. There's been a lot of unnecessary noise," Foote said.
It was no secret that Hughes had a strong connection with former head coach Rick Tocchet and he was obviously disappointed to see him go, but by the sounds of the conversation and relationship between him and Foote, it appears their is bright future if all goes well.
