February of last season marked Marcus Pettersson's move to the Vancouver Canucks from thePittsburgh Penguins, now the defensemen will have a full season in Vancouver and he is ready for a career year.

Marcus will be gearing for tonight's preseason game against the Seattle Kraken, with a top heavy lineup.
"Vancouver's top defensive pairing last season will make their preseason debut this evening as well, as Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek suit up, with Marcus Pettersson & Tom Willander on the second pair and Kirill Kudryavtsev & Pierre-Olivier Joseph on the third."-Jaxon

Marcus Pettersson ready for breakout season with Vancouver Canucks.

Adam Kierszenblat of the Hockey News, shared the potential for Pettersson to have a career year entering this season. With a full training camp with his new team under his belt, he'll be the best version of himself.
"This year's training camp took place in Penticton, where Pettersson had a chance to work with not just current players on Vancouver's roster, but also the organizations prospects. As Pettersson said, he is confident coming out of training camp and ready to make an impact in his first full season with the Canucks."-Kierszenblat

Marcus is excited ahead of this season, speaking on the level of hockey he saw in training camp, and now entering the preseason games, he sees a lot of potential for himself and for the team as a whole.
"I think what we showed in Penticton was the pace is really high. I think everybody was excited to get going. And as for games. I think that we need to try to play our game. I don't think I'm going to the pre-season thinking differently than I do a regular season. Trying to play my game and get the reps in. There's always a different tempo to a game than what it is in practice. So good to get your legs underneath you."-Kierszenbla

Not only will Pettersson look to play his best hockey, he also strives to be a leader both on and off the ice, he already has experience with a letter on his jersey, and whether he has it or not, he wants to be a example for the younger guys who are pushing for roster spots.
