The Vancouver Canucks have had their fair share of injury trouble, especially up the middle with Filip Chytil and Teddy Blueger, therefore they traded for Lukas Reichel from the Chicago Blackhawks, the only problem is, he isn't a center.

And now that he hasn't worked out as a center the Canucksthe Canucks are giving him no reps at wing, and he's been scratched for five games in a row.
"Now 13 games since coming over to the Canucks in hopes of a change of scenery being what is needed to turn Rachel's game around, with just 1 assist under his belt, the experiment has basically fizzled out and the Canucks have officially put the youngster on the trade block."-Mitchell

Lukas Reichel has been severely mismanaged by the Vancouver Canucks.

Adam Kierszenblat posted on X, head coach Adam Foote's response to Reichel being out of the lineup for five straight games. The problem isn't with Reichel, it's he was misused the second he arrived in Vancouver, and hasn't been able to find any rhythm because of it.
Asked #Canucks Adam Foote about Lukas Reichel, who has been a healthy scratch for the last five games:
"We don't have him in right now so we think there's players right now slightly ahead of him."
Reichel has only played one game on his natural wing since being with the Canucks, he was on the fourth line and played less than 10 minutes. It's kind of hard to give the young forward a real assessment with such a small sample size. But the head office and Foote seem to have their minds already made on him.
Jim Rutherford and Patrick Allvin have put him on the trade block, without even seeing what he can do at his natural position. If they aren't even going to try to see how he can perform where he belongs, then they wasted a draft pick on him, and they wasted Reichel's time and probably some of his confidence as well.
