Vancouver Canucks' Ongoing Desperate Search for a Centre Gets a Significant Update
A National Hockey League insider has given a big update this week regarding the Vancouver Canucks & Patrik Allvin's continued search for help down the middle.
As the Vancouver Canucks continue to keep their heads above water in a very competitive Pacific Division this season, it's clear that the club has been in need of some external help, partly due to their current injury situation.
Patrik Allvin has been able to make some additions to the team's roster within the last month, including
the signing of free agent forward David Kampf on Saturday, but according to one insider, the Canucks aren't expected to slow down their search for center help anytime soon.
NHL insider gives big update on Vancouver Canucks' search for center help
During an appearance on
Donnie & Dhali on Monday, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Vancouver Canucks are expected to remain active in the trade market for center help despite signing
David Kampf over the weekend.
"Even though [Vancouver] got David Kampf, I don't think that stops Vancouver's search for a center." Friedman said.
While the trade market has been quiet lately, action is expected to pick up in the coming weeks and could lead to a fairly busy December before the NHL's holiday roster freeze takes effect on December 20th and runs through the 27th.
It's hard to pinpoint who the Vancouver Canucks could potentially target leading up to the trade deadline on Friday, March 6th as when they're at full health, something the club hopes will happen at some point next month, they don't really need any more center help.
