The NHL's top insider Elliotte Friedman just provided a major update on the Vancouver Canucks' plans when it comes to who they will be hiring as their next head coach amid the Rick Tocchet parting ways with the organization.
All season long, there was constant speculation that Jack Adams award winning coach Rick Tocchet was going to test the open market after just two season behind the bench for the Vancouver Canucks.
Rumors mainly began when Tocchet denied the attempts of general manager Patrik Allvin trying to re-sign him, stating that he had no interest in negotiating during the season.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Canucks will narrow down their list of candidates to about 3-4 coaches this week, where some familiar names have been already made public.
