Other than the constant reports of Minnesota Wild Star Marco Rossi being linked to the Vancouver Canucks, it appears that General manager Patrik Allvin has acquired their first trade target since they moved away from the free-agent market.
Coming into the offseason, Canucks GM Patrik Allvin truly believed the team had a shot any acquiring a big nae on the free-agent market to fill the holes on the blue line and at the second-line center position.
"Hearing the Canucks have cooled off on pursuing late summer UFA Jack Roslovic.
Club wants a full-time center upgrade, and doesn't see that player available in the UFA bargain bin. It's going to take a trade. - Thomas Drance

The trade market offers the potential for a higher-impact player who can slot into the top-six and make a real difference, rather than just plugging a hole.
Scoring 12 goals and 21 assists in 78 games for the Canes, the 25-year-old center still has way higher ceiling than he i showing, and all it takes is a new environment and opportunity to full unlock his potential.
A major upside is that he carries an affordable $4.82 million dollar contract for a player that still has 5-years left on his deal and is going to be considered a depth center until he finds his game.
He clearly has improved his physical presence along with a two-way game that the Canucks could really benefit from.
It is unclear what the Canucks would have to give up in order to acquire his talents, but multiple reports indicate that he could be the best fit if the team will make a trade in the first couple of week of the 2025-26 season.
