The Vancouver Canucks may reportedly test out a newly acquired forward on Elias Pettersson's line in training camp and preseason games in a less than a month.
With training camp less than a month away, the Vancouver Canucks' coaching staff is going to begin taking a look at what potential forward lines and defensive pairings they'll want to run with to start off the preseason.
With a handful of new faces in training camp this time around, including Evander Kane, along with Vitali Kravtsov, Pierre-Olivier Joseph, Chase Stillman, among others, it's certainly going to be interesting to see where everyone ends up fitting in when the puck drops on Vancouver's preseason schedule on September 21st against the Seattle Kraken.
For Swedish forward Elias Pettersson, who says he's out for revenge this coming season, there could be a new face on his line this season, someone who the club brought in this summer, as suggested by a team reporter recently.

During a recent edition of Canucks Conversation, David Quadrelli of Canucks Army says that he thinks the club could roll with a line featuring Elias Pettersson down the middle, flanked by Evander Kane and Brock Boeser to start the 2025-26 campaign.
"Evander Kane is going to play some games in the preseason I would think with Elias Pettersson. I think that's where they're looking at this. I think it's like what you just said about, you know, what he [Kane] might be able to bring to Pettersson's line. You know, you just puff out your chest a little bit more when you're playing with Evander Kane, I think is maybe what they're thinking. So, I would say Evander Kane gets that shot." Quadrelli said.
Jeff Pattersson replied with, "So do you think it's Kane, Pettersson and Boeser then?"
Quadrelli added, "Yeah, I think that's your first line."

Adam Foote has a lot to think about between the start of training camp and opening night on October 9th, especially when it comes to Elias Pettersson's line as he has two legit options for the left wing spot on that trio - Jake DeBrusk, who said recently playing with the Swede was a big reason why he signed with the club or Evander Kane, who can act as a bit of a bodyguard for him, while also contributing offensively.
