Dangerous assault on Knights' captain Mark Stone: Line Brawl erupts between Knights and Kings
You've probably heard that one ton over the last few days, but Hockey is finally back. The players were desperate to return to actual game action, and the intensity showed it.
RIVALRIES ALREADY SPICING UP
The Knights and the Kings were meeting tonight, and obviously, the two teams couldn't wait to meet. The Knights held a 3-1 lead when these lines were written. Even though they were behind, the Kings knew where to strike since they directly aimed at the Knights' injury-prone captain.
The Kings' number 57, Hayden Hodgson, assaulted the Knights' captain and then not one but three Vegplayersyer jumped right over. Here's the hit and the brawl that followed:
SUSPENSION COMING HIS WAY?
Over the past few seasons, the NHL developed a rigid policy on illegal hits. Could they send a message early in the season and suspend Hodgson? Hodgson was handed a two-minute roughing penalty on the play, meaning the referees deemed the hit legitimate.
