Connor Bedard ties a well known NHLer for Canada's all time points record at World Juniors
Conner Bedard tied Eric Lindros with an assist on the fifth goal in a 5-1 victory against Sweden. The assist, along with 3 other helpers in the game, matched the record set by Eric Lindros in 1990/91. Bedard now has a total of 18 points in four games in this years tournament alone and is on pace to beat another legendary NHLer Peter Forsberg in the days to come.
Forsberg's 32 assists and 42 points lead all players in WJC history. As a 19-year-old in 1993, he set a single-tournament record by scoring 31 points (seven goals, 24 assists) in seven games, including single-game records of seven assists and 10 points in Sweden's 20-1 win against Japan.
Conner tied Eric's record in only 13 games vs Lindros doing the same feat in 21 games. Bedard also tied 14 career goals with Jordan Eberle for Canada's all-time national record at the world juniors. He also set a Canadian record for points and assists.
There is no doubt he will be the first pick in the 2023 draft and what ever team winds up with him is going to be gifted with a generational player.
