It's been a crazy week for the former Vancouver Canucks captain Bo Horvat. After being traded to the New York Islanders for Anthony Beauvillier, prospect Aatu Raty, and a top-12 protected first-round pick due to the Canucks' management not willing to pay Horvat what he was asking.
Today, Horvat got what he was looking for from the Islanders as Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports that Bo Horvat signed an eight-year, $68 million contract the deal carries an $8.5 million cap hit.
Horvat was going to be a UFA this summer and is having the best season of his career. The 27-year-old has 31 goals, and 24 assists, in 49 games this season.
You would think everything is all good now right? Well not exactly, after Lamoriello signed Horvat to his new deal, he would disrespect Horvat with his comments on the new deal saying:
Ouch, that's not something I'd like to hear if I was Horvat, but this was on Lamoriello, he traded for Horvat and he signed the contract today. So he's got no one to blame but himself.
