Gary Bettman has been the league's commissioner for the last 30 years. Over that span, he's been one of hockey's most polarizing faces, but he's also drawn tons of criticism for some of the decisions he's rendered.
One of hockey's top agents Allan Walsh had quite the statement regarding Bettman and the belief is that his influence over some of the most influential's owners may be waning. Walsh is well-known for his usage of social media to call out teams, owners, and now commissioners.
Yesterday, Walsh provided an update on Bettman's support or lack of it. The NHL announced they'd be looking at a potential $1M increase to the cap, but it appears, according to Walsh, that the Owners are pressuring Bettman into a higher raise:
Let it be reminded that Bettman works for the owners, if the discord between the two parties were to grow any further, perhaps this could be the beginning of the end.
