It's well known by now that the Vancouver Canucks will need to shed some salary going into the 2023-24 season and one way could be by trading Brock Boeser.

Boeser, 26, is entering the second year of a three-year contract that pays him $6.65 million per season. While the Canucks would like to keep him, they may be forced to move on for salary reasons as they are already nearly $700,000 over the cap for the 2023-24 season.

In a recent article on Bleacher Report, Lyle Richardson, better known on Twitter as SpectorsHockey, identified five potential landing spots for Boeser if Patrik Allvin decides to trade him.

The five teams Richardson mentions are - the Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild, New York Islanders, New York Rangers and the Pittsburgh Penguins, the latter of whom Boeser has been linked to in the past.

All five teams that Richardson names could definitely use a top-six forward who's four 20+ goal seasons in the National Hockey League already, including a 29-goal campaign during his rookie year in 2017-18.

This season, the Burnsville (Minnesota) native had another strong year, putting up 55 points (18 goals, 37 assists), 24 penalty minutes and was a minus-20 in 74 games.

Boeser isn't the only name that's been mentioned in recent weeks and months that the Canucks could move to shed some salary as Tyler Myers, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Conor Garland have been linked with moves out of Vancouver.

It'll be interesting to see what Patrik Allvin has up his sleeves as we lead up to the NHL Entry Draft in late June and the opening of free agency on July 1st.
