About a week ago, Alex Pietrangelo caused consternation when he announced that he'd be taking some time off from hockey without further explanation.
Today, he went and met the media about the reason of his absence.
His 4-year-old daughter developed a lesion in her brain following what appeared to be the flu. Complications led her to being hooked to a feeding tube whilst loosing all motor skills.
The Golden Knights' top defenseman affirmed that the doctors were now expecting her to make a full recovery. Furthermore, we send our best wishes and prayers to the Pietrangelo family as she recovers.
