LATEST | Former Canucks forward signs new NHL contract
After beginning the season down in the American Hockey League, former Vancouver Canucks forward Justin Bailey has seen his hard work get rewarded.
On Monday, the San Jose Sharks announced that they've agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 at the NHL level and $300,000 at the AHL level for the 2023-24 season.
"San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Mike Grier announced today that the club has signed forward Justin Bailey to a one-year, two-way contract."
Bailey, 28, has 11 points in 16 games for the Sharks' AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda and is leading the team in goals with six.
The Buffalo native appeared in 19 games for the Canucks between the 2019-20 and 2021-22 season, but didn't record any points, had eight penalty minutes and was a minus-seven.
It's unclear when Bailey will make his San Jose Sharks debut, but with Filip Zadina going on injured reserve, it could come as early as tonight against the Washington Capitals.
