MAJOR | The Coyotes' next destination revealed: Finally moving out
After failing to secure a vote to move to the city of Tempe earlier this year, a new plan for the Arizona Coyotes will reportedly be announced in the near future.
According to Darren Dreger of TSN, the Arizona Coyotes are finalizing a plan to purchase land in the Phoenix area to build their new permanent home, with it expected to be officially announced at some point in January.
"Not sure commissioner Bettman or the Arizona Coyotes will expand on this today. As mentioned last night on @TSNHockey, the Coyotes are finalizing the purchase of a piece of land in Phoenix for an arena build. They're hoping to announce project plans next month." Dreger said.
If approved and the plan becomes finalized, as is expected, it'll likely put any relocation rumours to bed. For years now, the Coyotes have been linked with a potential move outside of Arizona, with cities such as Houston and Salt Lake City mentioned as landing spots.
For now, however, the Coyotes will remain at the 5,000-seat Mullet Arena, which has draw the ire of many in the hockey world every since they moved in during the 2022-23 season.
Do you think the Coyotes should remain in the state of Arizona or should they be relocated? Let us know what you think in the poll below!
