A former Vancouver Canucks captain and fan favorite has announced some life-changing news just weeks before he's set to begin his 13th training camp in the NHL.

We're about a month away from the start of the 2025-26 season and while it's certainly going to be a big year for the Vancouver Canucks, it'll be no different on Long Islander for Bo Horvat and the New York Islanders.
Just like the Canucks, Horvat's New York Islanders missed out on the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, but got some luck this summer by winning the draft lottery and selecting defenseman Matthew Schaefer with the first overall pick.
As the Islanders get set to drop the puck on training camp in less than two weeks, Bo Horvat has a lot to celebrate, something that'll definitely motivate him heading into the new year.

In a post on social media on Sunday morning, Bo Horvat announced that his wife, Holly, and him have welcomed a baby girl into the family that the couple named Lainey Lynne Horvat.
"Lainey Lynne 💕" Bo Horvat said in an Instagram post, accompanied by photos of the newborn.
The Horvat's newborn is the couple's third child together following Gunnar and Tulsa, who were born in 2020 and 2022, respectively.
While it's been a busy summer off the ice for the Horvat family, the former Vancouver Canucks captain, it's going to be an even busier one on the ice as he's looking to help the Islanders advance past the first round for the first time since arriving in New York.
Trade rumors surrounding Horvat quieted down earlier this summer and he was recently given a massive opportunity - an invitation to Hockey Canada's Olympic Orientation Camp, so with a new child and the possibility of playing at the Winter Olympics, the former Canuck has a lot to motivate him heading into his third full year as a New York Islander.
Everyone here at Canucks Daily would like to congratulate Bo Horvat and his wife on the birth of their third child.
