Some new information has suggested that a former Vancouver Canucks forward will be a perfect addition to his new club heading into the 2025-26 season.

The offseason is slowly winding down, which means we're getting ever so close to the return of hockey, with Vancouver's training camp getting underway in Penticton in just 23 days.
There are going to be some new faces in training camp, including Evander Kane who was acquired from the Edmonton Oilers in June, but there will also be some notable absences too, those who have left the organization for a new opportunity elsewhere in the NHL this summer.

Former Vancouver Canucks centerman could be perfect addition for new club

One of those names who left the Vancouver Canucks earlier this summer was Swiss centerman Pius Suter, as he signed a two-year contract worth $4.125 million annually with the St. Louis Blues on the second day of the NHL's free agency period.
Losing Pius Suter could come back to bite the Vancouver Canucks as early as this season, as Patrik Allvin has had a difficult time trying to find some more help down the middle, but for the St. Louis Blues, who were also in the market for a centerman, it looks like it could be a home run signing.
Suter is coming off the best season of his National Hockey League career, registering new highs in goals (25) and points (46), while tying a previous high in assists (21) and as things stand right now, the Zurich native is projected to center St. Louis' third line behind Robert Thomas and captain Brayden Schenn.
In a recent article for Bleedin' Blue, Joe DeMarini examined the signing of Pius Suter and he believes that while he may regress a tad in the goal scoring department, if all goes well, he could be a perfect fit for the St. Louis Blues.
"We expect comparable production from Suter this season, though maybe not as many goals; Suter had a career high 18.1 shooting percentage in 2024-25, which should regress closer to his career average of 13.1 percent. A 20-goal season is well within the realm of possibility and, pending his special-teams roles, he could eclipse the 50-point mark for the first time in his career.

All in all, Suter is a perfect addition to the Blues roster and should be a key reason why they're able to return to the playoffs in 2025-26." DeMarini said.

While there's a good chance that Pius Suter will replicate or even exceed his production from last season, there's always a possibility that things go south and after receiving a big jump in salary, going from $1.6 million to $4.125 million, the St. Louis Blues are hoping that this bet pays off and he helps them return to the Stanly Cup Playoffs for the second consecutive season.
