The Utah Hockey Club Officially Unveils Team Name, Logo and Jerseys

After a 13-month branding and naming process, Utah Hockey Club officially unveiled their permanent team name, logo and jerseys for the 2025-26 season and beyond.
A little over a year ago, the Arizona Coyotes' hockey assets - including players, coaches and hockey operations staff moved to Salt Lake City where the team became 'Utah Hockey Club' as their temporary name until permanent branding could be decided on.
Utah Hockey Club held a fan vote to choose from six names started last June and on Wednesday, after 850,000 votes were tallied, the organization officially unveiled their new name.
Utah Hockey Club announces 'Mammoth' as team's new name
Shortly after 7 am PT on Wednesday, Utah Hockey Club announced their new team name - Mammoth, an extinct elephantid species that was found across the globe over 4,000 years ago including in what is now known as the state of Utah.
Along with their team name, Utah Mammoth unveiled their logo, which features their namesake and the Wasatch Mountain Range including the highest peak, Mount Nebo.
Utah Mammoth's primary logo will feature on their home jersey starting next season, along with new shoulder patches which are in the shape of the state and feature the team's wordmark and a hockey stick.
As for their away uniforms, Utah Mammoth is, for the most part, sticking with their current jerseys with some alterations including the font on their 'UTAH' wordmark and will feature the team's primary logo on both shoulders.
Utah Mammoth also unveiled some pretty slick looking alternate logos including a 'U' with a tusk through it that will feature on the team's pants both at home and on the road.
Utah Mammoth owners Ryan and Ashley Smith released a statement on the unveiling of their permanent branding on Wednesday morning, saying they're excited for their new chapter in the team's history.
"We couldn't be more excited to launch the official name and marks for Utah's NHL hockey team. When it came to naming the team, we did something unprecedented - going through four rounds of community voting, including getting feedback not only on potential names but also on potential logos. We love the passion of the people of Utah and the way they showed up for the team during its inaugural season and the energy they brought to voting on its permanent identity. From day one, we committed that this team would be built with and for the people of Utah, and we are excited to celebrate today's launch with the entire state. The community chose the Utah Mammoth, and it stands as a symbol of who we are, where we came from, and the unstoppable force we're building together." Ryan and Ashley Smith said.
Merchandise featuring the new Utah Mammoth logo will be available later today, while jerseys won't be able to be purchased until this summer.
Fans will likely get their first in-person look at the Utah Mammoth jerseys at the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, which gets underway on June 27th at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Utah will hold the fourth overall pick.
