GAINING EXPERIENCE AND A CONTRACT
Obviously, for these five Junior players, the experience they gained through their time with the organization holds no value. The goaltender Ty Young goes back to his Prince George Cougars with his fair share of experience, but per the team's latest announcement, he's going back home with an NHL deal in place.
The Canucks issued the following statement just now, confirming that the young netminder had convinced the team's upper management to offer him an Entry-Level Contract:
A promising 6'3'' and 185 pounds netminder, Vancouver initially selected Young in the fifth round, 144th overall at the 2022 NHL Entry draft. The team revealed they were pleased with his development and felt that the next step was retaining his services.
Young will return to the Prince George Cougars, where their core is developing and maturing. Led by 2023 NHL Draft top picks Koehn Ziemmer and Riley Heidt, they should be a dangerous team this year.
