LATEST | Brock Boeser makes promising statement: Comments on the off-season changes he adopted
Brock Boeser is entering a crucial season, and the forward made the needed change through the summer.
Coming off a season filled with ups and downs, from personal issues to injuries and critical trade speculations. Both Boeser and the Canucks need him to hit his potential fully. The winger notched 55 points in 74 games in a down-season; he's now ready to break his career highs, entering a new chapter.
The Canucks' number 6 changed his off-season training methods, followed RickTocchet's suggestions and hired a new coach that would push his conditioning level to a whole new high. In an interview today, Boeser revealed that he was extremely grateful to be here, that he was happy to be back with the guys and added some comments regarding the workhe'ss put in this summer:
"I changed gyms and tried something new. I've been working hard and started in the gym a little earlier. I'vee been skating hard.
I've got to come out and be ready right from the start of the season to make the playoffs, so it's important to be prepared.I'm just happy to be back with these guys. I love it here and feel like I've expressed that a lot."»
Always viewed as a potential 30-goal scorer, Boeser reached 29 and 26 in his first two seasons and has only gotten 23. He comes into this season with the sole purpose of proving his detractors wrong. He intends to prove thathe'ss worth every penny of the hefty contract he signed not too long ago.
