Vancouver Cancuks defenseman Tyler Myers shot down reports this week that the team's locker room is broken despite last season's J.T. Miller-Elias Pettersson feud.

The 2024-25 season is one that the Vancouver Canucks' players, coaches, management and staff would like to forget about for numerous reasons including the fact they missed out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
Another big reason why is the drama that surrounded the team for the majority of the year as the reported feud between J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson was one of the biggest stories in the National Hockey League for months until the former was traded to the New York Rangers in late-January.

Vancouver Canucks' Tyler Myers shoots down rumors that team's dressing room is broken

Despite missing out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the reported feud between the now former teammates, Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers doesn't believe that the club's locker room is broken.
Myers told Iain MacIntyre of Sportsnet in an interview this week that during his tenure with the Vancouver Canucks, which will enter its seventh season in the fall, the team's dressing room has never been broken and that it's easy to jump to those conclusions when people are not on the inside.
The 35-year-old blueliner went on to add that he believes the dressing room is tight, especially after the club re-signed Brock Boeser on Tuesday and locked up Thatcher Demko & Conor Garland to contract extensions.
"I think it's easy to jump to conclusions about what's happening when you're not on the inside. During my entire time in Vancouver, I have never once thought our room is broken.

Certainly, there was tension. But I've been in situations on other teams where there's tension between, you know, two teammates, a teammate and a coach, staff and player. But it doesn't mean that the room is broken.

If anything, I feel like we have a really tight room. And the fact that you have all these guys re-signing and coming back, we all feel the same way." Myers said to Iain MacIntyre.

With last year now behind them and the team having a new addition in Evander Kane, who was acquired last week, the Vancouver Canucks are hoping that they'll be able to make a push for the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs, especially with Elias Pettersson and Thatcher Demko reportedly back to 100 percent health.
