The Canucks' newest winger Jake DeBrusk was on Cam and Strick earlier and talked about how he'll be joining the Canucks and how he's excited to play with some of the players, one in particular. Debrusk called J.T. Miller an underrated forward in the league and compared his intensity level to what the Boston Bruins have in Brad Marchand. Here's the extract:
While Debrusk may not have an opportunity to play with Miller at first, he'll have a chance firsthand to witness what it means to be a Canuck and to play on Miller's team. On the podcast, both animators reminded Debrusk that Miller would be the first player to call him out if he stepped out of line.
It'll be interesting to see how Debrusk meddles with the group. He's previewed as the much-needed winger on Elias Pettersson's side, and it'll be interesting to see how this duet works out. On free agency, Allvin declared Debrusk his number one target and wouldn't have settled for Plan B. He went for what he wanted and got it. Now, will it play up to the expectations? That's a story for later.
Either way, Debrusk is happy to a Canucks and hopefully the rest will come as naturally.
