Czech forward Filip Chytil recently dove deep into his trade to the Vancouver Canucks earlier this year while being interviewed in his home nation by Hokej.cz.

After dealing with a feud between Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller, the Vancouver Canucks decided to move the latter in a trade with the New York Rangers, which saw the club acquire a package including former first round pick Filip Chytil.
Chytil's tenure with the New York Rangers was filled with injuries, including multiple concussions, and both parties felt like it was the right time to part ways, giving the forward a fresh start elsewhere.

Filip Chytil opens up about being traded to the Vancouver Canucks

In late July, Filip Chytil sat down for an interview with Hokej.cz's Pavel Mandat where he opened up about his trade to the Vancouver Canucks and how he found out about the move.
Chytil said that on the day of the trade, he started out by going through his usual workout in New York before accompanying the team on their flight to Boston ahead of their game that weekend against the Bruins.
After landing in Boston and getting situated, Chytil said he went to the gym and upon returning, had several phone calls from both General Managers involved in the deal as well as his agent.
The 25-year-old stayed in Boston overnight, flew back to The Big Apple to grab a few necessities, including his passport, before boarding a flight to Vancouver and appearing in their lineup 48 hours after the trade was completed.
"I had the same experience. I had a morning workout in New York, then we flew to Boston, where the next day we had an early game against the Bruins. I came back from the gym and I started getting messages that a trade was going to happen. Agents called me, then general managers So the next morning I flew back to New York, where I had to pick up my passport, and the next day I played a game in Vancouver. So it was a real rush. There was actually no time to think about it." Chytil said.

The Kromeriz, Czechia native appeared in 15 games for the Canucks before unfortunately suffering another concussion in mid-March which ended his season early.
With a little over six weeks to go until training camp begins, Chytil is back at full health and very much looking forward to his first full season as a Vancouver Canuck, one which will likely see him start the year as the team's second line centerman.
"Are you 100% healthy today?" Mandat said.

Chytil responded with, "Fortunately yes, knock on wood. I've been getting ready for the new season full-time since the beginning of May."
