A former Vancouver Canuck has recently shared his take on what Elias Pettersson says that he's been working on this summer as he prepares for the 2025-26 season.

With a little over a month to go until the Vancouver Canucks open up training camp in Penticton, British Columbia, with fans hoping for a much better outcome this season after missing out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs back in the spring.
One player who is raring to go is Swedish forward Elias Pettersson, who is coming off a tough year which included an injury and a feud with J.T. Miller, who was dealt to the New York Rangers in January, but now, he's hoping to prove everyone wrong and is "out for revenge."
"I haven't thought about it, but for myself it's revenge. I'm not happy with last season." Pettersson said.

Former Vancouver Canuck shares his take on Elias Pettersson's offseason thus far

Everyone in Vancouver is pulling for Elias Pettersson and are wanting him to succeed, especially since he's arguably the Canucks' best forward and has the ability to drive the team's offense when he's at the top of his game.
Earlier this summer, Pettersson shared that almost immediately after the 2024-25 season concluded, he began preparing for the upcoming campaign by getting back in the gym while at 100 percent health, something that he wasn't last offseason.
"We fought to get back, but it definitely took longer than we expected. But when the season was over, I switched to preparing for the next season and taking this time to train more in the gym, among other things" Pettersson said.

He added, "It sucks that we're still not playing, but I'll take advantage of the extra month of training to get started for next season."

During a recent appearance on Sekeres and Price, former Vancouver Canucks defenseman Frank Corrado believes that if Elias Pettersson is truly doing what he's been saying this offseason - such as getting in the gym, being on the ice, etc., he'll be ready to face anything that's thrown his way when the puck drops on the regular season in October.
"If he's truly doing what he says he's doing, he'll be better prepared, like he will have studied for the test. He's not going into the exam thinking 'Yeah, I know this stuff, like I kinda did it during the course of the semester, so I should know it today.' No, you have to actually, you got to do your homework, you have to study it before and if he's doing that now, then the test, aka the regular season, should be one of those things where you're like 'Yeah, I feel good about this.'" Corrado said.
Only time will tell if Elias Pettersson has been working hard this offseason and if he has been and returns to Vancouver motivated for a bounce back season, then the rest of the National Hockey League should watch out as the Sundsvall, Sweden native hunts for his second career 100+ point campaign.
