A former Vancouver Canucks forward has found a new home overseas in Europe just hours after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract in the Slovak Extraliga.
The offseason is winding down across North America and Europe, with some leagues featuring former Vancouver Canucks already underway including the KHL.
For one former Vancouver Canucks, who had initially signed in Slovakia back in June, he's set for a new challenge starting this weekend as he's decided to change teams just as the 2025-26 season commences.

In a press release on their team website on Wednesday, Slovak Extraliga club HKM Zvolen announced that they've mutually agreed to terminate their contract with former Vancouver Canucks forward Jayce Hawryluk.

Not long after HKM Zvolen made the contract termination official, the former Canuck found a new home for the 2025-26 season, signing a one-year deal with EHC Olten, who play in Switzerland's second division - Swiss League.
"I've known Jayce since his junior days and I'm convinced that his skills and robust playing style will enable him to play a key role in our team. He is versatile, can also play on the wing and quickly adapts to new systems. We are delighted that this signing has come to fruition."
