A former Vancouver Canucks goaltender & goaltending coach has landed a new job after a six-year absence from the game and is returning to one of his former teams.

As the offseason gets underway for the majority of teams in North America and Europe, many use this time to make additions or changes to their coaching and management staff.
For the Vancouver Canucks, they named a new Head Coach in mid-May, promoting Adam Foote to that role following the departure of Rick Tocchet to the Philadelphia Flyers.
Now, for one former Vancouver Canucks goaltender, who also spent time with the organization as a coach and consultant, he's returning to the game of hockey after six seasons.

Six years after leaving his role as Director of Goaltending for the Vancouver Canucks, former NHL netminder Dan Cloutier is joining one of his former teams - the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League.
Late last week, the Guelph Storm announced on their team website that Dan Cloutier has been hired as an Advisor to President of Hockey Operations Scott Walker, a former Vancouver Canuck, for the 2025-26 season.
"Guelph Storm General Manager George Burnett announced today that Dan Cloutier has been named Advisor to the President of the hockey club for the upcoming season." the Storm said in a post on X.
General Manager George Burnett said that Cloutier will be a key contributor next season to the areas of player development and scouting and highlighted the experience he brings to their organization.
"Dan has tremendous experience and knowledge at all levels of the game. He will make significant contributions in all areas of our program with key emphasis on player development and scouting." Burnett said.

Dan Cloutier shared a brief statement on returning to the Guelph Storm, who he spent half of the 1995-96 season with, expressing his excitement regarding his new role.
"I'm excited to be returning to the Guelph Storm. I'm looking forward to working with this talented group of players and staff to ensure both player development and team success." Cloutier said.

Cloutier, 49, spent parts of five seasons with the Vancouver Canucks between 2001 and 2006, including three years as their starting goaltender, appearing in 208 games with the club where he sported a 109-68-24 record along with a 2.42 goals against average, a .906 save percentage and 14 shutouts.
After his playing career concluded in 2010, Cloutier turned his attention to coaching and became the Goaltending Coach for the Ontario Hockey League's Barrie Colts, spending two seasons with them before joining the Vancouver Canucks organization.
In seven seasons with Vancouver, the Mont-Laurier, Quebec native served in a number of roles including Goaltending Consultant, Goaltending Coach and Director of Goaltending.
