A major development has basically just confirmed that the Vancouver Canucks will forgo drafting in the first-round of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft where they they hold the 15th overall pick.

It is an exciting time for the Vancouver Canucks fan base as with almost exactly one month until the 2025 NHL Entry draft, they finally have the opportunity to get a high, first-round draft pick, since they did not have one in 2024.

Vancouver Canucks to trade 2025 15th overall pick

But, rumours starting flying around just over a week ago by NHL insider John Shannon that their is a strong possibility that the General Manager Patrik Allvin will be shopping around that 15th overall pick in order to fill some glaring holes int he lineup.
It appears that that rumor of parting way with their first-round selection seems to be confirmed as the Vancouver Canucks have decided to stun fans by officially refusing to attend NHL Draft Events entirely.
"None of the Canucks top brass, GM, PoHO, or Head Coach, are at the following:

1. The NHL scouting combine
2. Their AHL team's Calder Finals push in Texas
Many fans were taken back by the teams decision to not attend these important evaluations, but it makes sense as this indicates they are aggressively shopping around their selection in order to find a established NHLer.
