An NHL insider recently shared which three centermen the Vancouver Canucks & General Manager Patrik Allvin targeted on the trade market this summer.

The Vancouver Canucks have been very open and vocal about their search for a second line centerman this summer, but have unfortunately come up empty handed with a week to go until the start of training camp.
Last week, David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reported that the Vancouver Canucks didn't get particularly close to adding a legit second line centerman this summer, whether that be through free agency or trade, something fans weren't too happy to hear.
"I think the Canucks certainly tried to, you know, comb the market and see what was out there in terms of the center position. I just don't think they got close on anything." Pagnotta said.

During a recent edition of Donnie and Dhali, NHL insider Rick Dhaliwal discussed the team's pursuit of a second line centerman in the offseason and he confirmed three names that Patrik Allvin wanted to bring to the club.
These three names are probably quite familiar to Canucks fans following rumors all summer long, but they are - Mason McTavish of the Anaheim Ducks, unrestricted free agent Jack Roslovic and Marco Rossi of the Minnesota Wild.
Dhaliwal shared that the Canucks didn't get close on Marco Rossi, with reports suggesting that the Wild turned down a trade offer for him before the NHL Entry Draft in June.
When it comes to Jack Roslovic, Dhaliwal says that it was the Canucks who decided to back off, but Frank Seravalli added the other day that the club is still monitoring the situation.
Finally, regarding Mason McTavish, Dhaliwal believes he's a player that the Vancouver Canucks would absolutely love to have in their lineup - he's young, can produce offensively, has some bite to his game, but it would cost an arm and a leg.
"They went after Rossi, didn't get close, they went after Roslovic...decided to back off; Mason McTavish they would love to get in Vancouver, but he's too pricey." Dhaliwal said.
While Vancouver Canucks fans might be disappointed that the club wasn't able to address their biggest need this season, understandably so, but they're not in a horrible situation per se, as Filip Chytil can fill that role until Allvin is able to find a permanent solution.
