With just one day to go until NHL free agency officially commences, General Manager Patrik Allvin's true season is about to start, and a new trade rumor has hit the sound waves suggesting the Detroit Red Wings are interested in Vancouver Canucks star forward Elias Pettersson.

Already this early into the offseason, GM Patrik Allvin has already got his feet wet with some big moves, ccombining with the Chicago Blackhawks in order to acquire 24-year-old centerman Ilya Safonov for future considerations.
"Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club acquired forward Ilya Safonov from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for future considerations." the Canucks said.

The Canucks' most notable move came after it was announced that they traded for controversial winger Evander Kane, who Vancouver sent over a 4th-round pick in order to take on his $5.125 million contract.

After a disastrous season for the Elias Pettersson and the Vancouver Canucks, the speculation about his future with the team have been running rampant ever since his dram with J.T. Miller came to headlines.
Now, a new report by the The Fourth Period has come to light that suggests the Detroit Red Wings are one of the teams linked to Pettersson as apar of the «Summer Trade Watch» story.

It has already been clear by Jim Rutherford and Allvin that they would rather keep Pettersson after being impressed by his current offseason work ethic to get back to where he wants was.
But, if a deal is goin to be made, the Red Wings only have the better part of a day to make a push for the star forward as his no-trade clause kicks on July 1st.
