With all the excitement surrounding game number 2 of preseason, a scary moment emerged for young Vancouver Canucks Forward Nils Hoglander as he went down with an injury against the Calgary Flames.

Just earlier in the day, Nils Hoglander addressed some major concerns that were surrounding his game, specifically his lack of production in the goal scoring category that saw him receive some pretty significant criticism from fans and media.
He made a point to assure the Canucks fanbase that his hot end of the season is surely going to translate to 2025-26 as he ramped up his training and on ice time during the summer.
"My goal now is to finish where I left off last year, so I feel pretty confident with that, and that's why I wanted to stay on the ice all summer too. I was skating way more this offseason." Hoglander said.

Unfortunately, there is a chance that Hoglander might not be able to back up those words with strong play on the ice as fans noticed a concerning scene on the Vancouver Canucks bench.
Just before the conclusion of the second period against the Calgary Flames, in the teams second game of the preseason, Hoglander was seen going down the Canucks tunnel with an apparent injury after taking a big hit.

During the third intermission, it was confirmed by the teams social media account on X that he was injured by a hit from a Flames player and that he would not be retuning to game.
Forward Nils Höglander will not return to tonight's game.
Concerning is to say the least as Hoglander was finally showing his chops and backing up his goal scoring vow as he opening up the scoring for the Canucks, netting a nice one past the Flames netminder.

Hopefully the injury is not too serious and was taken out of the matchup for precautionary reasons, if not, everyone here at Canucks Daily wishes Hogs a speedy recovery.
