The son of a former Vancouver Canucks defenseman has made a big decision on where he'll be playing for the 2025-26 season starting in September.
Teams around the National Hockey League are gearing up for a busy summer, with the draft and free agency less than three weeks away and the same goes for clubs in other leagues, including the OHL, whose offseason is already in full swing.
Last week, Manny Malhotra's son, Caleb,
signed a contract with the Brantford Bulldogs for the 2025-26 season and now another son of an ex-Vancouver Canucks is OHL bound this fall.

Back in mid-April, the OHL's Sarnia Sting
used a second-round pick to select defenseman Kaden Aucoin, son of former Vancouver Canuck and long-time NHLer Adrian Aucoin.
It was unclear where Kaden Aucoin was going to play next season, whether that be in the USHL or making the move over the border into Canada with the Sarnia Sting and this week, the 15-year-old made his decision.
In a post on their team website, the Sarnia Sting announced that they've signed Kaden Aucoin to a OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement which will see him join the club in early September.
"The @StingHockey have signed second round 2025 #OHLDraft pick Kaden Aucoin to an #OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. Son of long-time #NHL defender Adrian Aucoin spent 2024-25 with the @ChicagoMission." the OHL said.
Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca said that the organization is excited to welcome Kaden Aucoin to the team this fall and believe he'll become a very popular player among their fan base.
"Kaden is an exciting prospect, and we feel his game suits our style of play. He defends well, has strong mobility and has the instincts we seek in a defenceman. We expect him to a popular player for this organization, and we are proud to welcome Kaden and the Aucoin family to Sarnia." Seca said.
Aucoin, a native of Scottsdale, Arizona, appeared in 70 games last season for the Chicago Mission's U15 AAA team where he registered 48 points (11 goals, 37 assists), 90 penalty minutes and was a plus-41.
