Top 4 Landing Spots Emerge For Vancouver Canucks Star Forward Elias Pettersson
With the Vancouver Canucks pondering the possibility of moving on from Elias Pettersson or J.T. Miller, some landing spots have emerged for the Swedish forward.
The National Hockey League's trade deadline for the 2024-25 season is quickly approaching, with less than 60 days for teams to figure out which direction they plan on taking - buying, selling or standing pat with their current roster.
For the Vancouver Canucks and General Manager Patrik Allvin, it's still a little too early to say what they'll do at the deadline, but we may get a better idea just after the 4 Nations Face-Off comes to a close.
In recent weeks, Patrik Allvin has said that nothing is off the table when it comes to Swedish forward Elias Pettersson and that a trade could be possible.
"Well, you know Jim's history. Is it (a trade) possible? I guess I would say anything is possible." Allvin said while smiling during an interview with Sportsnet.
Further to that, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman shared last weekend that the Vancouver Canucks are exploring the trade market for Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller and that fans should brace for any outcome.
If the Vancouver Canucks opt to move on from Elias Pettersson rather than J.T. Miller, which teams could be in the mix to land the Swedish star?
Sportsnet's Ryan Dixon named 4 potential landing spots for Elias Pettersson
In a recent article on Sportsnet, Ryan Dixon shared four potential landing spots for Elias Pettersson including one team that was linked to him last year prior to the 26-year-old signing an extension.
The four teams mentioned by Ryan Dixon were the Anaheim Ducks, Buffalo Sabres, Carolina Hurricanes and Minnesota Wild.
"This is an easy one because there was smoke here last winter before Pettersson inked his extension." Dixon said of the Carolina Hurricanes.
He went on to add, "Maybe the conversation focuses on a centre piece such as 22-year-old winger Seth Jarvis or KHL defenceman Alexander Nikishin, who is expected in North America as soon as the end of this season and might be a top-four stud immediately." It's going to be an interesting eight weeks until the NHL's trade deadline with Vancouver Canucks fans anxious to see if J.T. Miller and/or Elias Pettersson will still be with the club after 12 pm PT on March 7th.
