Vancouver Canucks' Conor Garland Earns Big Honor at 2025 IIHF World Championship

Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland has earned a pretty big honor on Thursday while at the 2025 IIHF World Championship with the United States.
The 2025 IIHF World Championship in Herning, Denmark and Stockholm, Sweden has officially reached the Playoff Round, with all four Vancouver Canucks - Marcus Pettersson, Filip Hronek, Drew O'Connor and Conor Garland were all in action on Thursday.
All four players have played big roles for their respective nations throughout the tournament, but Conor Garland, who is apart of the United States' leadership group, has hands down been the best Vancouver Canuck at this year's World Championship.

On Thursday, the United States were taking on Finland in the Quarterfinals at the World Championship, with the winner moving on to the Semifinals on Saturday, while the loser headed home.
Conor Garland got the scoring started for the Americans today early in the first period on the power play, with a great shot blocker-side on Finnish netminder Juuse Saros to make it 1-0.

Late in the second period, with the United States on the power play once again and the game knotted up at 2-2, Conor Garland doubled down as an awkward bounce managed to find its way past Saros to give his nation a 3-2 lead heading into the second intermission.

Garland's two goals on Thursday helped the United States to a 5-2 win over Finland and the Americans will return to the Semifinals for fourth time in the last five years.

After the win, Conor Garland was named the 'Player of the Game' for the United States for the second time in the tournament, which is voted on by the team's management staff.
"Two-goal Garly with the POG!" USA Hockey said.
Garland, O'Connor and the United States will be back in action on Saturday as they face the co-hosts, Sweden, in what will be a sold-out crowd at Avicii Arena in Stockholm, with puck drop set for 5:20 am PT.
