An NHL insider has revealed that the Vancouver Canucks are among many teams around the league that are still looking to make a big addition this summer.

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin has been one of the busiest executives around the National Hockey League this summer landing Evander Kane in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers, re-signing Brock Boeser, signing Conor Garland and Thatcher Demko to contract extensions, while also clearing the team's goaltending logjam by sending Arturs Silovs to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Earlier this week, a report came out from Thomas Drance of The Athletic that said Patrik Allvin isn't done adding to his roster this summer and the team is still keeping their eye on the free agent market.
"It may be mid-summer, but #Canucks management isn't «off to the cottage» just yet.

Hear the club is monitoring a couple of the UFA options still on the market. No surprise given their recent history.

VAN needs to move out cap dollars first, + they're actively working to do so." Drance said.

Insider says Vancouver Canucks among teams looking to make big addition

During a recent appearance on Bleacher Report this week, National Hockey League insider Frank Seravalli revealed that despite the Evander Kane addition, the Vancouver Canucks are still in the market and looking to add a top-six forward to the fold.
However, the Vancouver Canucks aren't the only team in that situation as Seravalli added that the Calgary Flames, Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers, Seattle Kraken, St. Louis Blues, Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals are all in the same boat.
"Frank Seravalli: Still in the market, still in the mix for a top six forward: Red Wings, Maple Leafs, Flames, Canucks, Rangers, Devils, Capitals, Blues, Kraken and Kings" NHL Rumour Report said on X.
With that many teams looking for help in their top-six this summer, it could lead to a bidding war for certainly players who are reportedly available on the trade block.
Some of the names that have been out there this summer include Jared McCann of the Seattle Kraken, who the Vancouver Canucks have been linked to, along with Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Mason McTavish of the Anaheim Ducks and Marco Rossi of the Minnesota Wild, the latter of whom are currently restricted free agents.
While nothing appears imminent regarding Vancouver's pursuit of a top-six forward, perhaps we could see something happen later this summer or before training camp, once Patrik Allvin is able to move out some money, with both Dakota Joshua and Teddy Blueger being mentioned as options to be moved in order to clear cap space.
