The Vancouver Canucks may have one of the best forward groups within the Pacific Division heading into the 2025-26 season, with the club making big changes this summer.

As the month of July winds down, the Vancouver Canucks were one of the busier teams in the National Hockey League, as the roster has seen some changes ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
It all started just before the NHL Entry Draft in late June when the Canucks acquired Evander Kane from the Edmonton Oilers and a few days later, on July 1st, managed to re-sign Brock Boeser to a seven-year contract.
Despite a couple notable subtractions this summer - losing Pius Suter, who signed a two-year deal with the St. Louis Blues, while Dakota Joshua was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs a couple of weeks ago - the Vancouver Canucks' forward group is shaping up nicely heading into the new season and could compete with the best in the division.

Vancouver Canucks may have best forward group in Pacific Division

In an article on Canucks Army this week, Stephan Roget decided to compare how Vancouver's top-nine forward group to the seven other teams in the Pacific Division for the 2025-26 season.
"This top nine collection put together a cumulative 303 regular season points in 2024/25, or an average of 33.7 per player, which doesn't sound like much at all. However, this total comes with some serious caveats.

Suffice it to say that this is a top nine group that can and should do better, at least points-wise, in 2025/26." Roget said.

Just by looking at what both teams have available to them in terms of top-end talent, the Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights are among the best in the division, while the Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks are near the bottom.
Los Angeles certainly deserves to be in the mix with Edmonton and Vegas and may even have more depth than the Oilers at this point, but that hasn't been the case come playoff time in recent years.
Then there's the Calgary Flames and Seattle Kraken, both of whom have fairly good top-nine forward groups, but are right around the middle of the pack in the division.
Finally, when it comes to where the Vancouver Canucks rank in the division this season, it'll come down to a number of different factors including - Can Elias Pettersson return to his old self? Will Evander Kane hit the 20-goal mark for the tenth time in his career? and Can Brock Boeser replicate his success from a couple years ago and score 40 goals again?
If all three of those questions become a 'Yes' and the Canucks can improve in the goal scoring department after finishing 24th in the entire NHL last season, there's no question that they could have a top-three, maybe top-two forward group in the Pacific Division.
