The Vancouver Canucks stepped up Saturday and got themselves a good young player. Acquiring forward Vitali Kravtsov from the New York Rangers, in return the Rangers received prospect Will Lockwood, and a 7th round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
The 23-year-old wasn't happy in New York having asked for a trade, due to lack of playing time that was also hurting his development. However, this shouldn't be a problem anymore. Kravtsov is going to get all the opportunity he can ask for in Vancouver.
Kravtsov is reportedly happy in Vancouver and this was shared by Vancouver Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal on Twitter from Kravtsov's agent:
"Kravtsov agent Dan Milstein : Vitaly is very happy going to the Canucks, he has always liked Vancouver and he has lots of friends on the team."
Kravtsov is a pending RFA this summer. He is due a qualifying offer of $840,000. The Canucks will likely sign Kravtsov to a two-three year deal would be my best guess as far as term is concerned.
