Classless act from a fan during the Leafs / Islanders game and it stopped the game
John Tavares took the world by surprise a few year back when he left the Islanders who had drafted and groomed him for his hometown Maple Leafs. Tavares was brought into Toronto to bring in some leadership and experience and thus far it hasn't panned out since they've failed on multiple occasions to reach the second round of the playoffs.
In a recent game involving both teams (Islanders and Maple Leafs), an Islanders fan was caught throwing a Maple Leafs jersey, which we expect to be bearing Tavares' name, on the ice.
To think that fans are still hooked on Tavares' departure, even five years later, especially since the Isles have had way more playoff success over that span than the offensively loaded Leafs. Odds are they may be facing one another when comes the playoffs as the Islanders are currently holding the first wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference with 82 points.
