With just eight days left until the NHL's trade deadline the Vancouver Canucks are expected to make some substantial changes, including trading defenceman Luke Schenn, and possibly Brock Boeser, what what about J.T. Miller?
Miller's had a rocky relationship in Vancouver not just with Management but also his teammates over his tendency to have major temper tantrums when things don't go his way.
Before the Canucks gave Miller that insane 7 year $56 million dollar contract back in September 2022 the Canucks were rumored to be trying to trade Miller. However despite signing Miller long-term the Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin has been testing the waters to see what kind of return they could get for Miller.
However it seems liked things have changed as TSN's Hockey Insider Darren Dreger would reveal:
"Alvin reached out to Miller's agent to cool down rumors and trade talks."
Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin would say: "We want J.T. to be successful in Vancouver."
I think either the Canucks knew they aren't going to get alot in return for Miller with his attitude issues and that massive contract. So it seems like the Canucks feel well we signed him we may as well keep him.
