The Canucks announced they'd enter a 'retooling' phase earlier this year. Since then, they've moved the team's captain and acquired mainly Aatu Raty, Anthony Beauvilier, and Filip Hronek. Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford opened up and stated they'd be aiming at players in their early 20s, who need a 2nd chance, who have yet to break out.
In his latest article regarding the Canucks' top trade target, Thomas Drance listed the players Patrik Allvin should have high on his list. Based on Michael Russo's latest report (Minnesota Wild Reporter), the Wild would be listening to offers for Marco Rossi:
Rossi, about to turn 22, is a left-handed centerman who's displayed tons of potential in Junior and the AHL. Over two seasons in the OHL, as a 16 and 17 years old, managed 185 points in 109 games. He then graduated to the AHL, collecting an impressive 104 points in 116 games. However, he's failed to keep a spot in Dean Evason's line-up, and the youngster may need a change of scenery.
An extremely skilled forward, known for his playmaking abilities would be an excellent addition to the 3rd line. He still has 2 years to his ELC and could be an extremely cost-efficient player for the team if he succeeds under Tocchet. Given that the price of acquisition excludes the 11th pick, should Allvin be interested in adding the Austrian star in the making?
