LATEST | Referee locks himself up before calling the cops
The last year featured its load of controversial events between players, coaches, parents and referees. This one falls right into that category.
This situation clearly highlights why there is an on-going shortage of zebras. In a recent video that trended on Instagram, a referee fled the ice and locked himself in a locker room to call the police. Banging on the door can be heard while the referee calls for help:
"We have people banging on the door, we called the police and have them coming."
