LATEST | Trevor Linden reflects on his time as a Canuck executive: It says a lot about the team's structure
Trevor Linden will always be remembered as a legend in Vancouver for the time he spent captaining the organization. The Canucks' former number 16 then gave some time as the team's president; earlier this week, he reflected back on his passage as one of the team's execs.
He was the President of Hockey Operations for a total of 4 seasons (2014-2018), and what he had to say about his time with the organization may be the reflection of what the problem truly is in Vancouver:
"I tried to have a longer vision, but at times that didn't work for people."
The Canucks have been criticized a ton over the last few years for their lack of vision and player assessment. The Jim Benning era led to horrifying signings and despicable trades, was that precisely the lack of longer vision Linden was referring to?
