The Tampa Bay Lightning were in action Tuesday night vs the visiting Philadelphia flyers.
The Lightning looked to have this one in the bag leading 4-2 late in the 3rd period when Flyers defenceman Tony DeAngelo offered a nasty spear to the Lightning's forward Corey Perry, right in the baby maker.
DeAngelo obviously got sent packing from the game and given a five-minute major for spearing. Flyers head coach, John Tortorella somehow tried to contest it but there was no possible bargaining on that call.
The camera's angle on this one offered the best possible view of these despicable acts. DeAngelo has a tarnished reputation following him, there was no need for him to add to it.
The NHL Department of Player Safety will undoubtedly have a meeting with DeAngelo and there's no way he won't get suspended for his actions.
